The IMA - International Coordinating Body (ICB) convened virtually in two sessions–one on Sept. 8 and another on Sept. 14, 2024–to accommodate all of its global members.
IMA Executive Committee Meeting
The Executive Committee (EC) of IMA convened on 25th of August 2024. The EC members discussed the plans and activities that will be carried out from September 2024 - August 2025, including the solidarity conference that will happen this October and the next IMA Global Assembly in 2025.

On the 7th of August 2024, the International Migrants Alliance - Asia Pacific (IMA-AsPac) and its co-organisers hosted an online forum to share the recent events happening in Bangladesh. The forum was joined by more than 170 participants from across the globe, and our three guest speakers in Dhaka were able to share their experiences and analyses of the current situation in Bangladesh. This article summarises the key questions and discussions which were highlighted in the forum.

It is outrageous that this blatant attack on migrants is happening, and immediate, uncompromising action is required.
Migrants demand: Release the detained 57 Bangladeshi workers in UAE now
The International Migrants Alliance (IMA) Asia-Pacific is deeply concerned about the recent mass conviction and sentencing of 57 Bangladeshi migrant workers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). While acknowledging the UAE’s right to maintain law and order, we believe the harsh penalties imposed on these individuals are disproportionate to the alleged offense.

[STATEMENT] IMA Statement on International Earth Day
This April 22, 2024, we commemorate International Mother Earth Day, in the midst of "a perfect storm of climate crises, armed conflicts, economic and nature crises that are exacerbating inequality and pushing more people into poverty," according to the World Bank. "For people in developing countries, climate change means skyrocketing food prices, toxic air and polluted water. It leaves countries just one natural disaster away from poverty, forcing parents to pull their children out of school and entire communities to migrate."
