The International Migrants Alliance (IMA) strongly condemns the latest wave of violent and racist raids by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which have left thousands of migrants detained and communities across the US terrorized. In one of the most sweeping actions to date, over 2,300 people were reportedly detained in a single day during coordinated attacks in Los Angeles, carried out under the direction of the Trump administration.

The International Migrants Alliance (IMA) marked this year’s International Labor Day by co-organizing with IMA USA two webinar sessions, enabling members from across the globe to actively take part in the commemoration. The webinars were held on May 10 at 9:00 PM and May 11, 2025, at 9:00 AM, both in Hong Kong time, to accommodate different time zones. Representatives from Canada, the US, Latin America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific shared updates on the conditions of migrants in their regions, the struggles they face, and the ongoing campaigns they are leading.

The International Coordinating Body (ICB) of the International Migrants Alliance (IMA) convened in two sessions last April 5 and 6, 2025, to lay the groundwork and preparations for the Alliance’s major events and campaigns this year. Thirteen (13) ICB members participated in the two meeting sessions, primarily discussing and sharing insights on the following key agenda points: 1) 6th Global Assembly (6GA), 2) preparation of regional & chapter reports for the 6GA, 3) preparation for May Day 2025, and 4) other related matters.
